The Electricity Company of Ghana's attention has been drawn to a false alarm circulating on social media, to the effect that, some devices have been installed on ECG poles and are meant to freeze the easy flow of cellphone network during the election period. +++ +++ The ECG wishes to state categorically that this information is FALSE. +++ +++ The communication devices installed on the ECG poles in areas such as; Dodowa, Roman Ridge, Legon, Prampram etc. are meant purposely to facilitate smooth flow of communication between the prepaid meters (NURI prepaid meters) on the field and our server. +++ +++ The general public is therefore being advised to ignore this false alarm. +++ Thank you.

Additionally, we have redesigned our website to help our customers experience our services with various new features. About the Power Sector in Ghana

There are seven public institutions involved in the power sector. These are the Ministry of Power (MOP), Energy Commission (EC), Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC), Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana Grid Company (GridCo), Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) and the Northern Electricity Department Company(NEDCo), a subsidiary of the VRA.Energy Foundation is a private-public sector partnership to promote energy efficiency and conservation countrywide. Independent Power Producers(IPPs) are also private sector players in the power sector.
