About the Power Sector in Ghana

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to apologise to our Customers on the BOT prepayment system over the long delays they are experiencing in their bid to vend. +++ This situation is as a result of work in progress to completely resolve the initial challenge and normalize the BOT prepayment business process. +++ Once again we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Dr. Deborah Cubagee was appointed to serve on the Board in December, 2015.  


She is the Executive Director at DE NACK EDGAR COMPANY LIMITED, Accra. Dr. Deborah Cubagee is the President of Women in Sports Association of Ghana (WOSPAG),  1st Vice President of Ghana Olympic Committee  (GOC) and a Public Health Physician Specialist. 











Dr.Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi was appointed to serve on the board in September 2013.

He is a Physician and a Politician. Dr.Apea-Kubi has an extensive experience in the field of Medicine. He is a former Deputy Minister of Interior and  Eastern Regional Minister.









Mr. Clement G. Abavana is an Electrical Consultant with wide experience in electric power distribution. He trained as an Electrical Engineer. Mr. Abavana worked with the then Electricity Corporation of Ghana and retired with the Northern Electricity Department of the Volta River Authority. Mr. Abavana currently runs a consulting firm, Noxie Consult Limited.








Dr. Alfred Kwabena Ofosu Ahenkorah was appointed to serve on the Board in September 2013.


He is the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Board. Having trained as Engineer, Dr. Ahenkorah has wide experience in Public Service, especially regulatory policies in the energy sector. Dr. Ahenkorah is currently  the Director/PPME (Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation) at the Power Ministry. He is the former Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission.

















Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor was appointed to serve on the Board in September 2013.

He is the Deputy Minister of Power. Until his new position, Hon. Jinapor was the spokesperson for then Vice President and now President John Mahama from 2009 to 2013. He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (Marketing).
