ECG has not been sold, it operates as an asset owner and has a license as a Bulk Energy Trader - Ing. Samuel Boakye-Appiah (MD, ECG)

Mr. Zakaria-Cisse had his career development with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) while working as a Manager in the office of the Managing Director where he became conversant and well versed in the entire operational business of the Company as well as a good appreciation of policy issues. He later joined the Planning Investment Programming and Environmental Safeguard (PIPES) Department of the West African Power Pool (WAPP) Secretariat in Cotonou, Benin with responsibility for coordinating and monitoring activities of five European Development Funded (EDF) ACP – EU Cross Border Supply of Electricity to Rural and Peri-Urban Communities in Togo, Burkina Faso, Benin. 

He was also part of the WAPP Regional Renewable Energy Programme, WAPP Battery Storage Project and the World Bank’s Solar SOP.  Additionally, he doubled as the WAPP Representative on the NEPAD-IPPF Programme to source for funding for studies for project preparation of electricity infrastructure and acted as the Resident Representative of the ECOWAS Emergency Electric Power Supply Programme Of The Gambia.   

Mr. Zakaria-Cisse holds a Mittelstufe I Diplome d’Etudes Superieures (DES) 3eme Cycle from the Gothe Institute, Accra and the Universite de Paris (La Sorbonne). He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Banking and Economic Studies from the Centre for Finance, Economic and Banking Studies, Paris, a Post Graduate Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Ghana and Professional Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. Aside these, he has participated in a number of short courses, workshops and conferences around the world and is currently the Director in charge of Energy Trading at the ECG. 




Mr. Leonardo Nii Lantei Lamptey is a Barrister-at-Law and an Investment Promotion Consultant with expertise in institutional review, drafting of laws, regulations and international instruments, contract drafting, joint ventures, Public-Private Partnerships, Power Purchase Agreements and Technology Transfer, investment negotiations, legal counselling and international and national arbitration. 

Mr. Lamptey once worked with the United Nations Industrial Organisation (UNIDO) as a Consultant and Investment Promotion Expert where he served as the Country Team Leader for the UNIDO Regional Investment Promotion Program, provided operational leadership for the conduct of the 2009 and 2010 Africa Investor Surveys in Ghana, coordinated the establishment of the Sub-Contracting Partnership Exchange in collaboration with the Association of Ghana Industries and also as a lead in capacity building efforts in nineteen African Countries for their respective investment promotion agencies. 

Mr. Lamptey has also previously worked with Gyandoh, Asmah and Co Legal Practitioners as an Associate Partner and with the Ministry of Power as a Legal Consultant. He joined the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited in May 2018 as a General Manager for Legal Services. He currently serves as the Director in charge of Legal and Corporate Services of the Company. 

On his academic qualifications, he holds a Professional Certificate in Law/Barrister at Law Certificate (B.L.)  and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association. 






Mr Francis Nimo Akonnor, an Accountant by profession started his career in finance with the Electricity Company of Ghana as a Clerical Officer with the Accounts Unit in March, 1980. He was then stationed at the Asamankese District Office in the Eastern Region. He has held various positions within the Finance Directorate, of which he is now the Director. He has participated in a number of training programs and has improved his skill set, making him a dynamic practitioner and leader. 

His work as an Accountant has seen him provide strategic direction to the Finance Directorate of the Company in relation to management accounting matters and compliance of internal accounting policies and procedures. He has a thorough knowledge on managing and reviewing work-in-progress with regards to fixed assets, asset depreciation and disposal of assets. He also has experiences in income and expenditure management, planning and budgetary issues, budget reviews, supervising stocktaking exercises, reviewing contracts and ensuring the smooth running of the computerized financial management system. 

Mr. Akonnor is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA in General Management. A graduate of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, he is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He had previously worked with Tropical Cables and Conductors Limited before joining the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited. 






Mr. Eric Ansah-Antwi joined Electricity Company of Ghana twenty-three years ago as a Revenue Management Officer with the Customer Services Directorate. He later moved to the Internal Audit Directorate as Audit Officer. In 2010, Eric was promoted to Manager and was in charge of Regional Audit. His schedule included developing annual audit plan, initiating financial and operational audits throughout ECG operational areas, identifying areas of potential internal control exposure and making recommendations for improving operational efficiency. 

In 2018, Mr. Ansah-Antwi was promoted to General Manager and was responsible for Operational and Technical Audit. Among his duties included Supervising financial, operational and information technology audits throughout ECG operational areas, reviewing internal controls in all operational areas of the company to ensure that they are adequate, complete and reliable and undertaking special audits and investigations at the request of the management

Mr. Ansah-Antwi is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). He is also a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Ghana). He holds MBA Finance from University of Ghana. Mr. Ansah-Antwi graduated from the University of Cape Coast with Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and a Diploma in Education (UCC). He has attended several conferences in Ghana and abroad.

Mr. Eric Ansah-Antwi is a General Manager and the Head of Audit at the Electricity Company of Ghana.
