FEATURES

Though a smart meter, it is not operated as such in ECG

The customer is given a Radio-frequency identification (RFID) Card

It uses a customer contactless smart card for loading money unto the meter from the vending the point.

HOW TO READ YOUR MONTHLY CONSUMPTION

Go to the PrePaid Meter, Press the Orange Push Button on the Meter 6 times to Page 6.

METER DISPLAY

The meter displays information in the display pages including:

  • Cumulative Energy consumed since meter installation in kWh(page 1)
  • Remaining credit (money) in cedis (page 2)
  • Power consumed in kW (page 12)

BILLING

Billing for customers is done inside the meter. The meter receives the cash and computes the tariff as and when customer consumes electricity in each month. Levies, VAT and NHIL are all computed inside the meter.

Service charge is billed at vending stations based on previous months and it is charged on the customer’s 1st visit in new month)

Subsidies are also given at the vending station (1st visit on a new month).
