The 7thEngineers’ Forum has taken place on the 29th September, 2016, at the Accra International Conference Centre. The theme for the Forum was dabbed; “Promoting Innovation to meet Current Trends in the Utility Industry”. In all, over 100 staff of ECG participated in the event. The event was chaired by Mr. Clement G. Abavana, a member of ECG’s Board of Directors.
The Engineers’ Forum has been instituted to bring about innovations through various investigations or research works. The Forum principally affords all staff in ECG an opportunity to identify challenges within the Company, research and propose the best economical solutions.
In all, nine research papers were presented by to the audience. The presence of these audience coupled with their sense of technical judgements garnished the event. The nine papers presented are detailed below:

The various presentations were all geared towards promoting innovation to meet current trends in the utility industry. The presenters connected very well with the audience and were very articulate in the delivery. The audience participated fully by listening attentively and questioning the presenters where necessary, and also added very constructive contributions.

The Managing Director, Mr. Robert Dwamena; the Director for Network Projects, Ing. Samuel Boakye-Appiah, as well as the acting Director of Engineering, Ing. Kwadwo Ayensu Obeng, graced the occasion. Also in attendance was the former Director of Engineering, Ing. Julius Kwame Kpekpena who is currently the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of MiDA.
