ECG Volta Regional Management Holds 2-Day Working Retreat

The Volta regional Management team, comprising the General Manager, all Regional and District Managers, and the Public Relations Officer, has ended a two-day residential working retreat in the Sogakope District of the Region. The retreat was held between April 12th and 13th, 2017.

Welcoming participants to the retreat, the Volta Regional General Manager, Ing. Joseph Forson said the essence of the meeting was to take stock of the current status of the Company’s operations in the Region, where it has come from, and make resolutions for the future.

“The terminal objective for all of us in this meeting is that, after this retreat, we all must be adequately educated on latest trends; Engage each other to collectively share and solve problems; be exposed to better ways of doing things, and learn from everyone’s experiences”, he said. Ing. Forson added that such steps will prevent the Region’s issues and problems of today from degenerating into crisis.

There were presentations from the Acting Manager of Industrial Relations, Madam Pamela Akaba, on the ‘Workman’s Compensation’. The General Manager of Public Relations, Mr. William Boateng also took participants through ‘Proper Personal Grooming’.

At the retreat, each District Manager made a presentation of key issues, including challenges faced in their respective districts, and suggested innovative ways of solving them. The regional managers then made inputs to each one’s presentation and indicated the support their sections could offer.

After the retreat, the Management team took the opportunity to meet with staff of the Sogakope district at a durbar, at which Management interacted with staff on various operational issues.

The second quarter working retreat will be held in July, in the Nkwanta District of the Region.
