ECG Central Educates Staff

The Central Regional Office of the Company has educated staff and Contract Meter Readers across the ten operational districts in the Region on billing and safety.
The ten-day programme formed part of the Regional Management’s strategy to continually deepen the technical competencies of staff in order to improve the customer service delivery system in the Region and increase safety consciousness among staff.
The communications team was led by the Regional Public Relations Officer with support from the Marketing Officer and the Regional Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Officer.
The exercise, which commenced on 23rd March and ended on 7th April, 2017, was in two sessions. The first part was on the pro-rata billing, and the second part on emergency preparedness.
Through these engagements, the Marketing Officer, Mr. Prince Charles Adusah, educated staff on the pro-rata billing, clarifying the various components that make up the bills customers pay. He explained that with the pro-rata system, customers’ consumption, including service charge, are billed daily on the Commercial Management System (CMS) and permutated to generate a monthly bill for customers. He added that the daily proration ensures a fair calculation of customers’ bills, taking into consideration the number of days of power use.
In his presentation, the SHE Officer, Mr. Enoch Asante, stressed the need for staff to make safety a critical point of consciousness in their daily endeavours. He noted that, the Company’s ability to properly handle situations like fire outbreaks, floods and mob attacks gives an indication of its level of emergency preparedness.
Speaking to participants, Mr Isaac Nurris Ainooson, the Regional Public Relations Officer, implored staff to develop positive attitudes towards these engagements and share the knowledge acquired with colleagues and communities where they live since they represent ECG in the social space.
