Lines could be energized; let trained crews respond

It’s that time of year. With the rainy season with heavy winds approaching, it is important for the public to understand what to do if faced with downed power lines and potential power outages.

We do our best to avoid interruptions to electric service for our retail and wholesale customers we serve. Heavy winds and rains can be devastating to property and take down power lines, creating a dangerous situation for the public, including line crews working to get power restored.

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform the general public that apart from communities under the Government of Ghana (GoG) Self Help Electrification Project (SHEP), any person interested in electricity connection to their premises should contact the nearest ECG Office. As an act of moratorium

The Electricity Company Of Ghana Limited is being assisted by the Police and Military team to sweep the Greater Accra, comprising the Accra East, Accra West and Tema Operational Regions of ECG as a start, to unearth and prosecute persons who engage in Illegal Connections.

The exercise will start on 1st August 2015 and will involve the visit by ECG Revenue Protection Teams to check the integrity of our service connections and meters in all our customer premises.
