ECG assures of stable power during Christmas season

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has given the assurance that it has put in place contingency measures to forestall any power outages during the festive season.

The measure includes the deployment of some selected engineers of the company who will be on standby 24/7, to attend to electrical and technical challenges.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) limited has supported the Asogli Education Fund with GH¢5000.00.

MD pays courtesy call on President of National House of Chiefs

The Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ing. Kwame Agyemang- Budu, on Friday, 13th December, 2019 paid a courtesy call on the President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV, at his palace in Ho as part of his working visit to interact with staff in the Volta Region.

Togbe Afede XIV, the President of the National House of Chiefs, is also the Agbogbomefia of the Asorgli State and the custodian of the area where the company operates in Ho.

According to Ing. Kwame Agyemang-Budu, the Asorgli State is a key stakeholder in the operations of the company, therefore, his visit was to establish a network to enhance the existing relationship between the company and the people of Asorgli Traditional area.

The MD added that “following my confirmation as the Managing Director of ECG, I am here today to seek the support and blessings of Togbe Afede XIV and the Asorgli Traditional Council to enable me succeed in this role”.

Ing. Agyemang-Budu impressed upon the traditional authorities to help the company fight the canker of illegal connections and attack on ECG Staff.

He urged the Chiefs and Elders not to shield recalcitrant customers who attack ECG officials but rather report them to the law enforcement agencies.

Togbe Afede XIV on his part underscored the relevance of the company’s socio-economic development, particularly in his traditional area.

The Agbogbomefia of the Asorgli state, Togbe Afede XIV, pledged his unflinching support and that of the Asorgli Traditional area towards the vision of the Managing Director.

He also thanked the MD for supporting his Education Fund.

Also present at the gathering were all 33 Paramouncies of the Asorgli Traditional area and the MCE of Ho Municipal Assembly, Hon. P. Bansah.
