COVID-19 power bill relief takes effect

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has started implementing the three-month electricity bill relief announced by the government to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on customers.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is reminding its prepaid customers to either swipe or insert their cards into their meters before visiting vending points or ECG offices to purchase credit.

ECG meters thief in court

An unemployed man is in the grip of the police for allegedly stealing prepaid meters from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and selling them to the public.

A total of 11 meters valued at $2,600 (GH¢15,000) were retrieved from Edward Abeiku, who had sold each of the meters at the cost of GH¢600.

ECG to replace obsolete equipment for better services
